The Social Service | A very awakening audio experience !
The Social Service : melodically warning you against that strange thing which we call "TV"...
Today,PJ Transervices is proud to celebrate the release of a very inspiring album produced by a band called "the social service" and led by one man, Simon Shack, who happens to be not just a friend of yours truly but who's also both a multi-linguist half Norwegian - half Swedish very talented musician and sound engineer (just to name a few of his many other talents), "Realitivity" is a very pleasant audio journey which will take you through great funky/ ethnic bass lines, very peaceful BUT extremely awakening lyrics (yes, one does not always need to scream it out loud to spread the message...), thus very well assembled compositions combining a wide-range of GOOD musical influences (Frank Zappa or Peter Gabriel), and by "good" we mainly mean the vibration that truly matters.
The Social Service's Realitivity very inspired art cover, a wall painting made by Hoi Polloi, a passionate and self-dedicated media fakery investigator (www.cluesforum.info). What may the well-known italian character Pinocchio have to do with the Twin Towers? hmm hmm.
“To me, music-making remains a wonderful ‘escape-road’ from this crazy world we live in, and this, in spite of all what I’ve learned over the years regarding the sadly corrupt / co-opted music industry (what with several of my former ‘youth music icons’ - the likes of Frank Zappa or Peter Gabriel to name but two) turning out to be fishy / dubious characters...
To be sure, I have long given up my youthful / wishful idea of making a living out of my music-making - but I can only wish and hope that some folks will enjoy what I now consider as a ‘soothing hobby’ of mine - and of our band (all members of which are non-professional / part-time musicians). Here follows a list of the various Social Service band members which have contributed to the above two albums (the latest of which also including a few drum & bass samples from creative commons material) “

Could media fakery be the ultimate medium and an absolute "weapon of mass distraction" to quote Simon's own words?. All roads seem to be leading towards that "direction" and while this both crucial and very urgent topic seems to be irritating the vast majority of people around, what other better way to spread the message while singing it?
